As the volleyball season winds down the Flathead Bravettes remain settled atop the Western AA standings. Flathead (7-0 in conference, 11-2 overall) is ranked second in the state in the latest Class AA Power Poll released last night.
Riding an eight-match win streak, Flathead is the state’s top-ranked team in kills (273), assists (254) and aces (81). Glacier (4-2,10-4) is tied for second in the standings and fell short of making the Power Poll.
Flathead’s Kwyn Johnson is the top-ranked hitter in the Western Conference based on attack efficiency. Teammate Cassie Krueger is second. Glacier’s Tiffany Marks is ranked fourth. Flathead’s Emily Russell is the top-ranked server and has 28 aces. Glacier’s Hannah Liss is second, followed by Flathead’s Emma Andrews and Glacier’s Kailea Vaudt. Flathead’s Sarah Risenhoover is ranked second in blocks per set. Glacier’s Marks is tied for fourth. Vaudt is third ranked in digs. Flathead’s Iris Matulevich is the second-ranked passer. Glacier’s Cassi Hashley is No. 3 followed by Flathead’s Nouf Rashoodi and Johnson. In assists, Flathead’s Russell is No. 1 with an average of 10.17 assists per set.
Flathead hosts Glacier at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 4. It’s senior night and the final home match of the season for the Bravettes. Glacier’s senior night match is Oct. 25 against Missoula Big Sky.
