Fall brings the beginning of monthly meetings for Flathead Valley Trout Unlimited. This month we have a program you won’t want to miss. If you fish the Clearwater River in nearby Idaho for big steelhead, or if you just always said you want to, you don’t want to miss this program.
Angler Dan Magers of Bigfork has spent 22 year pursuing steelhead on the Clearwater. The good news for us is that he is a rigorous student of fish behavior and habitat. He is also scrupulous keeper of fishing data. Dan recently published his new book “Striking Steelhead” based on 18 years worth of data, 1,883 hours on the Clearwater and 1,162 caught steelhead. Dan will give a presentation this month at our regular FVTU meeting. If you want to know the down-and-dirty about fishing for steelhead, this is your chance to learn.
Flathead Valley Trout Unlimited meetings are held the third Tuesday of each month at the Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks meeting room at 490 North Meridan in Kalispell. This month’s meeting will be Tuesday October 16 and will begin at 7pm. We hope to see you all there.
