Country Music Star to Perform in Whitefish

By Beacon Staff

Country music singer Sarah Darling will be performing on Central Avenue in Whitefish on Wednesday evening to film a video. The performance is free to the public.

Darling’s music career began in 2003 on E! Entertainment Television’s reality show “The Entertainer.” She was one of the finalists and headed to Nashville soon after. She has released two studio albums since.

On Sunday, Darling announced on her Facebook fan page that she would be filming a performance for a major network television show in Whitefish. Darling couldn’t name the show or network, but said the public was invited to be a part of the shoot, which starts at 9 p.m. Although the downtown concert is free, those attending will have to sign an appearance release.

The event was being put on with the help of the Whitefish Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Montana Office of Tourism and Glacier Country Regional Tourism Commission. Jan Metzmaker, director of the convention bureau, said the concert will help promote Whitefish.

“Many thanks go out to the Whitefish downtown businesses and city staff who have helped us with the logistics for this special televised performance by a rising music star,” she wrote in a press release. “The future exposure our town will receive from this TV shoot will be a tremendous benefit for our local economy.”

For more information, check out Darling’s Facebook page. Those wanting to attend are asked to get to Second Street in downtown Whitefish at 8:30 p.m., 30 minutes before the show starts.
