Governor-Elect Bullock Announces Transition Team

By Beacon Staff

HELENA – Gov.-elect Steve Bullock says his transition team will be led by Department of Justice staffers.

The Democratic attorney general won the race for governor Tuesday in a showdown with Rick Hill.

Bullock says he is turning his focus to appointments to cabinet positions and is drafting a budget to propose to the Legislature after his inauguration in January.

The Democrat says Tim Burton will lead the transition from Brian Schweitzer’s administration. Burton has served as his chief of staff at the Justice Department.

Also coordinating the transition are chief deputy attorney general Ali Bovingdon and Bullock’s campaign manager, Kevin O’Brien.

Deputy campaign manager Siri Smillie will be director of scheduling for the transition team.

A second floor office in the Capitol has been established for the transition.
