Registration is open for a general trapper education course for northwest Montana, according to Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks.
The course, conducted by instructors from the Montana Fur Harvesters organization, will be held over two days, Dec. 7 and 8. The class is not required but it is strongly recommend, according to FWP. This is not a wolf trapper certification class. In the course, instructors will emphasize trapper ethics, regulations, trapping heritage and trap sets. Instructors will show actual trap sets and techniques with special attention to avoiding non-target species.
— Friday, Dec. 7: 6-9 p.m. at FWP headquarters, 490 N. Meridian Road in Kalispell
— Saturday, Dec. 8: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Flathead Valley Clay Target Club north of Kalispell
