A memorial service for Taylor Peterson is scheduled for 3 p.m., Friday, Dec. 14 at St. Richard’s Catholic Church in Columbia Falls.
Peterson passed away Dec. 10 from cancer. She was 17.

Three weeks ago, doctors diagnosed Peterson’s cancer as terminal. She had returned to Columbia Falls for her senior year of high school this fall after undergoing cancer treatment, including radiation and chemotherapy, for 18 months. The community rallied and donations were gathered through fundraising efforts and events to fulfill her wish of traveling to Hawaii with her father and close friend. But Peterson’s health rapidly declined and she was unable to fulfill her final wish.
Peterson was born July 25, 1995 in Whitefish to Michelle Koller and Chuck Peterson. She was an honor roll student at Columbia Falls High School and an all-conference volleyball player.
She was the subject of a story earlier this fall when she remarkably battled back to play in her volleyball Senior Night match.
