HELENA – Gov.-elect Steve Bullock has selected Tracy Stone-Manning of Missoula to run the Department of Environmental Quality.
Stone-Manning has been an adviser to U.S. Sen. Jon Tester on such issues as logging, wilderness and wolves.
Bullock says that experience working with people across the state will be put to good use at DEQ. Bullock said he wants the agency to continue to protect the state’s environment while properly developing resources.
Bullock, the Montana attorney general, takes office next month after beating Republican Rick Hill in the race for the state’s top office.
Bullock has already named directors for the departments of Commerce, Labor and Industry, Corrections and Transportation along with Natural Resources and Conservation. Other big appointments that remain include the Department of Public Health and Human Services.
