Entering the final two months of the hockey season, the Glacier Nationals are tied for third and battling for a playoff seed.
Glacier hosts Bellingham in two crucial home games, Friday, Jan. 11 and Saturday, Jan. 12. Both games are 7:35 p.m. at Stumptown Ice Den in Whitefish.
The Nationals are 11-4-1 in NORPAC and Bellingham is 12-12-1. But both teams are tied in the points standings because of Glacier record in the competitive AWHL. The Nationals are 1-8.
The top four teams in the NORPAC advance to the playoffs.
“I feel we have a really good chance to not only make the playoffs but actually win the entire league,” said Butch Kowalka, the team’s general manager and a coach.
The Nationals have made strides this season, beating some of the best teams in the league while also competing against established AWHL opponents like Missoula and Billings.
“These are the four biggest games of our season,” Kowalka said of the upcoming schedule.
