LETTER: Oppose Same-Day Voting/Registration

By Beacon Staff

A recent editorial made a plea that we must retain “same-day voting/registration,” as it appeals to the dignity of the voter.

If the dignity of a voter hinges on their registering and voting on the last day, Election Day, it speaks volumes to me and should to you. I feel many voters didn’t give any real thought as to whom or what they were voting for.

This past election had an abundance of same-day voter registrations and look how that election turned out. We will now have four more years of a president, Barack Obama, who clearly is the most polarizing American president we have ever had in history and one who demonstrates an absolute disregard for the U.S. Constitution. He remains “popular” due to the endless entitlements that are being pandered to a misinformed electorate. This endangers our sovereignty and freedoms, by an endless irresponsible very high national debt – we can almost never repay. He remains “popular” due to a big government progressive run media. When I heard the election results I was angry and sad. I know many voted, and many due to same-day voting provisions, picked a candidate who will give them stuff or an America that espouses social justice instead of truth, hard work and individual responsibility.

Say no to same-day voting registration, as it only lends confusion and disillusions prepared voters who have to wait in long lines, and provides fuel for fraud in the end tally. Please don’t get your information from the Associated Press, Hollywood or general TV and media. Be a fully informed voter and the truth shall set us all free – not government handouts!
