Butte Central Drops Columbia Falls at State Tournament

Butte Central scored with eight seconds remaining to edge Columbia Falls 37-35 in a loser-out game at the Class A girls basketball state tournament in Butte on Friday afternoon.

The Wildkats lost their opening round game against Billings Central, 61-49, on Thursday. Their season ends with a 17-6 record. The Maroons advance to Saturday’s loser-out contest.

Laurel defeated Frenchtown in the opening round, 53-42. The Lady Broncs are playing Stevensville right now in loser-out action.

Billings Central faces Browning in the state semifinals tonight and Laurel takes on Havre on the other side of the bracket.
