Registration Opens for Flathead Community Garden

By Beacon Staff

Farm Hands-Nourish the Flathead is accepting applications for plot rentals in the Flathead Community Garden for this season.

Registrations for the garden plots located on the Flathead Valley Community College campus in Kalispell will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. The deadline to register is April 13.

In 2010, Farm Hands-Nourish the Flathead teamed up with Flathead Valley Community College to develop a one-acre community learning garden on the college campus to provide Flathead Valley community residents the opportunity to rent garden plots. For its fourth season beginning in May and concluding in November, Farm-Hands-Nourish the Flathead are making 30 ready-to-plant raised beds available for the community to rent.

The four-by-eight foot plot rentals cost $35 dollars each and include water and available tools. Each participant also will receive access to all garden events.

Interested community members can register by contacting Garden Manager Gretchen Boyer at [email protected] or at 261-5569.
