Montana State Men Win Big Sky All Sports Award

HELENA — The Montana State men and Portland State women won the Big Sky Conference all-sports award for the 2012-13 school year.

Montana State finished fifth at this weekend’s outdoor track and field championship, earning enough points to hold off Northern Arizona 58.5 points to 56 points.

MSU won the football championship and tied for first in tennis while NAU won the league titles in men’s cross country and in both indoor and outdoor track and field.

Montana finished fifth in the all-sport trophy standings after winning the league title in men’s basketball.

The Portland State women won the league volleyball title and were runners-up in three other sports to beat Sacramento State. The Montana women won the league basketball title and finished second in tennis to finish fifth overall. The MSU women were eighth.
