Montana State Parks Promotes Safe Boating With Kalispell Program

By Beacon Staff

Montana State Parks is promoting safe boating this summer with three “float smart” programs scheduled at state parks in Billings, Helena and Kalispell in June.

The Float Smart program features a discussion of inflatable pontoon boat navigation, equipment and safety concerns. This interactive program is designed for anglers or water recreationists who use one-person pontoon boats or are considering purchasing one. Using video, classroom discussion and on the water demonstrations, participants will learn about cold water survival, personal protective gear, and what to do when something goes wrong or equipment breaks.
