Frac Daddy to Run in Belmont Stakes

BILLINGS — Frac Daddy, a 3-year-old gray thoroughbred owned by two Billings residents, is going to run in Saturday’s Belmont Stakes in Elmont, N.Y.

The Billings Gazette reports trainer Ken McPeek and co-owner Carter Stewart said Monday that the horse would run the 1.5-mile race. The field is expected to include Kentucky Derby winner Orb and Preakness winner Oxbow.

Entries for Saturday’s race will be taken on Wednesday, with post positions drawn the same day.

Frac Daddy placed 16th in the Kentucky Derby on May 4 and didn’t run in the Preakness. Frac Daddy has beaten Oxbow, at the Arkansas Derby in April.

McPeek says jockey Alan Garcia will be riding Frac Daddy in the Belmont.

Frac Daddy is owned by Stewart and Ken Schlenker.
