Lakeside Annual Fair

By Beacon Staff

The annual Lakeside Fair will be held Saturday, July 13.

It’s truly an all-day affair with dozens of fun events for everyone in the family.

For example, a pancake breakfast starts at 7 a.m., the 5K run starts at 9 a.m. and the parade starts at 11 a.m. And the duck races at the Tamarack Ale House start at 4 p.m.

Also throughout the day, there are dozens of arts and crafts vendors to visit and a silent auction as well.

The proceeds of the event go to the Lakeside Community Club, which generously supports various nonprofit and civic organizations throughout Lakeside and the Flathead Valley.

For example, the volunteer club uses the proceeds to support the Rollins and Somers/Lakeside Volunteer Fire Department, The Lakeside QRU (Quick Response Unit), the West Shore Food Pantry, the A.L.E.R.T. Air Ambulance and many other organizations.

The annual fair is also a good time to meet Lakeside residents as practically everyone in town seems to participate, volunteer, sponsor, cook, donate or host something at the event.

Also, the Lakeside Elementary School grounds will be packed with arts and crafts, commercial vendors and food booths.

If you want to set up a booth to sell your wares, you can still register by July 1. Please contact Dody Sheremeta, (406) 857-2116, [email protected]; or Peggy Hedin (406) 857-2252, [email protected]

5K Run & Walk
The 5K run and walk starts and ends at Volunteer Park at the intersection of U.S. Highway 93 and Adams Street, at the shore of Flathead Lake and in the middle of Lakeside.

Serious competitors should note that this year the race will be professionally and digitally timed.

And those who are just out for some fun and exercise should note that there are plenty of categories to win, for men and women, young and old, and even a category for stroller-pushing racers and their young competitor partners.

Register early by July 10 and pay only $15 to participate (after July 10, it’s still only $20). To register – and guarantee a race T-shirt – please visit: http://lakeside-community-mt.com/5K_Race.html.

You can also register the day of the race, July 13, starting at 7:45 a.m. (the race starts at 9 a.m.).

And note that The Lakeside Fair 5K Run and Walk is not only fun – it’s truly unique. And it’s one of the few events where you can participate in a 5K, cool off by taking a dip in the lake, watch a parade and enjoy a good day filled with food, events, prizes, and fun (and leave by boat if you wanted to).

So if you’re looking for a fun day for the entire family – along the shores of Flathead Lake – be sure to be at the Lakeside Annual Fair.
