FWP Seeks Comments on Trumbull Creek Project

By Beacon Staff

Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks is seeking public comment on the Trumbull Creek Channel Remediation 124 Permit Application draft environmental assessment. FWP proposes to examine and make a decision on whether to grant approval for a Montana Stream Protection Act (SPA) 124 Permit application submitted by the Flathead Conservation District for channel remediation on Trumbull Creek, located near Columbia Falls. The proposed project includes removal of vegetation and accumulated sediment on the streambed and restoring level height. It also includes construction of a livestock watering area.

The draft is out for a 30-day public review through July 22. Copies of the draft are available at the FWP office, 490 N. Meridian Rd., Kalispell; Montana State Library, 1515 E 6th Ave., Helena; FWP State Headquarters, 1420 E 6th Avenue, Helena; local libraries; and the FWP website under Public Notices.
