On Saturday, Aug. 10, at 10 a.m., the Glacier Nordic Club will hold its 31st annual Big Mountain Run.
The race will start at the Danny On Trailhead at Whitefish Mountain Resort and end at the summit, a 3.8 mile course. Runners will compete for the titles King and Queen and Prince and Princess of the Mountain. Dogs, with a runner, will compete for Dam and Sire of the Mountain. Hikers are welcome.
All runners finishing the course in a time less than their age (women – age plus 10 minutes) qualify for the birthday club and get a cupcake. All registered runners (except dogs) receive a free ride back to the base. The cost is $15 per individual, $30 per family, $8 juniors (16 and under). For a registration form visit glaciernordicclub.com. Race day registration will be held from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the Danny On Trailhead. The proceeds benefit the non-profit Glacier Nordic Ski Team’s programs for youth.
