Longenecker, Ahlers Claim Top Prize at Beacon Pro-Scratch

Scott Longenecker and Justin Ahlers held on to win the sixth annual Flathead Beacon Pro-Scratch Invitational golf tournament last week.

Longenecker and Ahlers carded a total score of 130 over two days and edged runners-up Joe Arriaga and Reed Platke by a stroke.

The Beacon Pro-Scratch features many of the best professional and amateur golfers in Northwest Montana and elsewhere. This year’s tourney featured 35 pairs of professionals and amateurs.

Amateur and professional players paired up and competed at Eagle Bend Golf Course in Bigfork on July 22 and at Northern Pines Golf Club in Kalispell on July 23.
