Montana Tech Names Craft Women’s Hoops Coach

By Beacon Staff

BUTTE — Montana Tech athletic director Charles Bradley has announced the hiring of DeAnn Craft as the next head women’s basketball coach.

Craft was coach at NCAA Division II Saint Anselm College in Manchester, N.H., for the past four seasons, where her teams posted a 38-67 record.

Bradley says Craft brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the job.

Craft is a native of Kansas who played basketball at Central Florida. She led the NCAA one season by making 92.6 percent of her free throws. She coached at Division I Texas Pan American for six seasons before moving to Saint Anselm.

Craft says she is humbled to be chosen and is excited to be a part of Tech’s athletic program.

Craft takes over for Kerie DePell, who resigned last month after six seasons to move back to her home state of Washington.
