Time Lapse Shows Enormity of California Fire

By Beacon Staff

It seems that the Flathead Valley has dodged the bullet when it comes to wildfires this year, but that’s not the case in California. The Rim fire has burned more than 192,000 acres of land in and around Yosemite National Park since it started two weeks ago. As of Thursday, firefighters had it about 30 percent contained but the potential for more growth is listed as “extreme.”

As destructive as a wildfires can be, they can also be strangely beautiful. A time lapse video posted by Yosemite National Park shows that beauty. Check it out.
