EXPLORE: Homecoming Festivities

Another school year is underway and it’s time to celebrate.

This week marks the first of many homecoming festivities in the Flathead Valley.

Glacier High School is kicking off the 2013 celebrations with a week full of events that culminate Friday with a parade through downtown Kalispell.

The parade is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. and run from First Avenue West to Legends Stadium, where the Wolfpack football team is taking on Missoula Hellgate at 7 p.m.

The volleyball team is hosting Helena at 1 p.m. At halftime of the football game, the ceremonial crowning of the school’s royalty will take place.

Then next week it’s Flathead and Columbia Falls’ turn to celebrate with weeklong activities, Sept. 23-27.

The Braves are hosting Great Falls C.M. Russell for their homecoming game at 7 p.m., Sept. 27. Columbia Falls play rival Whitefish at 7 p.m. that night.

Whitefish and Bigfork are celebrating their homecoming weeks Sept. 30-Oct. 4. The Bulldogs football team hosts Polson at 7 p.m., Oct. 4. Bigfork hosts Troy at 7 p.m.
