TOWNSEND — A Broadwater High School football player who died in a rollover crash that also injured three other players has been identified as 18-year-old Dakota Kimbrough.
Lewis and Clark County Undersheriff Wynn Meehan says the 15-year-old driver as well as two other passengers ages 15 and 16 were treated and released following the crash Friday afternoon.
The Montana State Highway Patrol says the pickup was traveling west on South Ray Creek Road in Broadwater County when the driver lost control after going past a vehicle coming from the opposite direction.
Police say Kimbrough was riding in the bed of the pickup and was ejected when the pickup rolled. He died at the scene.
Police are continuing to investigate.
School officials cancelled Friday’s football game and homecoming activities.
