Bozeman Daily Chronicle to Eliminate Monday Print Edition

By Beacon Staff

BOZEMAN – The Bozeman Daily Chronicle plans to end its Monday print edition Oct. 7.

Publisher Stephanie Pressly announced in the newspaper on Sunday that the Monday print edition will be replaced by a combination of digital updates and shifting print content to other days of the week.

Pressly says reader interest is at its lowest on Monday, and as a result businesses prefer to advertise on other days.

She says that has meant a Monday newspaper that is not particularly substantial, and so the Chronicle made a business decision to eliminate it.

The paper plans to add a section called “Monday on Sunday” that will include regular items that previously appeared on Monday.

Pressly notes that the newspaper’s online and mobile audience has grown dramatically in the last several years.
