The philosophy of patient-centered care has been a focal point at North Valley Hospital for decades. In 2002, the organization went a step further and became affiliated with the Planetree organization, which supports medical facilities with tools to promote this philosophy. North Valley Hospital also brings this philosophy to surrounding communities with its clinics and partnerships dedicated to compassionate care, promoting paths to well-being, enhancing each individual’s choices with dignity and empowering them with education.
North Valley’s outreach clinics in Columbia Falls are like the strong branches of the “plane tree,” otherwise known as the sycamore tree. North Valley Professional Center and North Valley Physical Therapy bring a host of providers and staff who often seem like family to their patients. Visits aren’t only focused on what’s troublesome as a patient, but expand into the unique aspects that are important in the life of each individual. Care is taken to make everyone feel comfortable and at home by supporting their decisions and recognizing the importance of our authentic interactions.
The true spirit of our involvement with the Columbia Falls community doesn’t begin and end at our clinics’ doors. Being part of the community is an important quality of our wellness outreach. North Valley provides support to Boys and Girls Club of Glacier County that includes health education to the children and staff. We also participate in the annual school district health fair along with supporting the Columbia Falls High School Health Occupation Student’s Association. The administrators at North Valley Hospital also know the importance of sports training, which is why we help sponsor the athletic coach for the Columbia Falls school district.
But it’s not all serious all of the time. Being part of the fun times is something North Valley looks forward to every year. Participating in events such as Heritage Days, Night of Lights Parade and the Columbia Falls Rotary’s Breakfast with Santa we are able to further connect with the people we serve and promote paths to wellbeing.
In October, the hospital and all its outreach clinics celebrate the proud recognition of National Patient Centered Care month. We invite you to share in the observance of patient-centered care. Whether you have the opportunity for a personal experience with one of our providers, smile in seeing the friendly wag from one of our certified pet therapy dogs, or enjoy a freshly made meal at the Valley Café, we welcome the whole community through our doors.
