MSU Fifth, UM 10th in FCS polls; Carroll 7th in NAIA

HELENA — The Montana State football team is ranked fifth and Montana is 10th in this week’s polls of Football Championship Subdivision coaches and media.

North Dakota State is ranked first and Eastern Illinois second in both the coaches’ and The Sports Network polls. Eastern Washington is ranked third by The Sports Network and fourth by the coaches.

Eastern Washington travels to Montana Saturday for a key matchup while Montana State hosts UC Davis.

Northern Arizona is ranked 16th by The Sports Network and 19th by the coaches.

In the NAIA, Carroll College is ranked seventh, Rocky Mountain 10th and Southern Oregon 22nd. SOU moved into the poll after a 55-28 win over then-No. 18 Montana State-Northern.
