The Columbia Falls football team defeated Polson 42-5 on Friday night, clinching the Northwestern A title and finishing unbeaten in the regular season for the first time since 1976.
This has been a pretty special season for the rising program. Friday’s victory earned the Wildcats (8-0) only their second conference title in 40 years. The 2010 team won its first conference title since 1976 and the Wildcats have now advanced to the playoffs six of the past seven seasons. It should be fun to watch where it goes from here.
The third-ranked Wildcats earn a first-round bye in the Class A playoffs, which kick off next weekend.
