FWP Looking for Info on Poached Moose Near Clinton

By Beacon Staff

State wildlife officials are investigating the weekend shooting death of a moose along Schwartz Creek Road southwest of Clinton.

Fish, Wildlife and Parks Warden Capt. Joe Jaquith tells the Ravalli Republic the moose was likely shot late Saturday evening or Sunday morning along the route that is popular with hunters.

Wardens are looking for help in solving the case. Jaquith says someone hunting in the area might have seen something that didn’t seem quite right and that information might help solve the case.

Anyone with information is asked to call 1-800-TIP-MONT (1-800-8476668).
