Recent Bigfork Grad Victim of Monday’s Fatal Accident

Officials have identified the victim of a Monday morning accident near Condon as a 19-year-old from Bigfork.

Matthew James Edwards was driving home from a successful elk hunting trip when he veered off Montana Highway 83, overcorrected and rolled his pickup, according to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

The crash was reported at 8:26 a.m. Edwards was ejected from the vehicle and died on the scene, according to officials. He was driving alone.

Edwards graduated from Bigfork High School last year.
