Columbia Falls, Whitefish Ready for Football Quarterfinals

Whitefish forced six turnovers and rolled past Butte Central 43-12 last weekend to advance to the quarterfinals of the Class A playoffs.
The Bulldogs (8-2) now travel to Belgrade (7-2) for the second round, Saturday, Nov. 9 at 1 p.m.

Columbia Falls (8-0) is back in action after last week’s bye and kicks off the postseason at home against Havre (5-4). Kickoff is noon, Saturday, Nov. 9 in Columbia Falls.

Hamilton eliminated Polson from the postseason, 24-21.

The Bulldogs are looking sharp after last week. Against Butte Central, Whitefish recovered two fumbles, by Brady Harwood and Michael Voisin, and intercepted four passes — Walter Holliday, Sean Foley, Calub Thilmony and Jack Streibich. Foley and Thilmony added touchdowns along with Jed Nagler and Chris Park. May ran in two TDs and passed for another.

Columbia Falls faces a Havre team that edged Miles City 21-20 in the first round. After falling behind 14-0, Havre plowed back and, in the second half, scored two unanswered TDs and held Miles City scoreless.
