Affordable Care Act Presentation in Whitefish

By Beacon Staff

A free event to explain the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare, will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 19 in Whitefish.

Two representatives from the Office of Commissioner of Securities and Insurance will be on hand to give a short presentation and answer questions at the event at Grouse Mountain Lodge in Whitefish. The Flathead Democratic Party is hosting the information session. Deputy Commissioner of Securities and Insurance Adam Schafer and Chief Legal Counsel Jesse Laslovich will begin the discussion at 7 p.m.

Montana Insurance Commissioner Monica J. Lindeen launched a new website in August where Montanans can ask questions and find answers about the new federal health reform law.

According to organizers, the Whitefish event is an opportunity to get honest answers, not spin, about the Affordable Care Act, what it means in Montana and what it means in your life. A brief business meeting will follow. This event is free and open to the public. Everyone is welcome to attend to learn more, ask questions, and understand the new law.
