HELENA — Frontier Conference champion Carroll College and runner-up Rocky Mountain College have earned spots in the 16-team NAIA playoff field.
Carroll finished the regular season with a 10-1 record and is ranked third in the final poll. The Saints will host 13th-ranked Georgetown of Kentucky on Saturday at noon. Carroll beat Georgetown in 2002 to win its first of six national championships. The Saints last beat Georgetown 35-3 in a 2011 semifinal game in Helena.
Rocky finished at 8-3 and is at fifth-ranked Morningside in Iowa on Saturday. Morningside is the defending national runner-up and was the top ranked team all season until losing its only game on Nov. 9. Rocky is making its first appearance in the NAIA playoffs since 1999.
