Columbia Falls Brings Home Fourth from State Volleyball

A day before the football team edged out a narrow victory, the Billings Central volleyball squad edged Columbia Falls and eliminated the Wildkats from the Class A state volleyball tournament.

The Lady Rams won 25-8, 25-22, 21-25, 25-22 over Columbia Falls on Friday. The Wildkats finished fourth.

Columbia Falls won its opening match over Miles City, 25-9, 25-18, 25-15, but fell to Lewistown, 25-20, 25-21, 25-14, in the quarterfinal round. The next morning, the Wildkats avoided elimination by beating Belgrade, 25-16, 12-25, 25-22, 25-23.

Columbia Falls ended an impressive season with a 13-8 overall record and the Northwestern A championship.

Corvallis won the state title over Lewistown, 27-25, 25-18, 25-22, 25-17.
