The Glacier volleyball team earned fourth at the Class AA state championship meet in Bozeman last weekend. Helena defeated the Wolfpack 24-26, 26-24, 25-18, 25-17 on Friday night, eliminating Glacier from the tournament.
Billings Senior successfully defended its state title, defeating Billings Skyview 25-21, 25-16, 25-18.
Both Glacier and Flathead picked up first-round victories — the Wolfpack beat Great Falls, 25-17, 23-25, 25-23, 25-21 and the Bravettes won a nailbiter over Bozeman, 20-25, 25-19, 27-29, 25-23, 15-8. In the quarterfinals, Billings Skyview defeated Glacier 25-22, 25-17, 25-17 and Billings Senior defeated Flathead 25-22, 14-25, 25-14, 25-17. Helena dropped Flathead the next day, 25-18, 25-22, 19-25, 23-25, 15-10. Glacier beat Bozeman, 25-13, 25-21, 15-25, 25-12 to advance to the fourth-place game against Helena.
Glacier ended the season 23-5 overall with several highlights, including sweeping the conference scheduled and winning the Western AA title. Flathead finished 18-12 and second place in the West during the regular season.
