Montana’s Brock Coyle Honored by Big Sky

HELENA — Montana linebacker Brock Coyle is among four athletes honored as the final Big Sky Conference football players of the week.

Coyle, a senior from Bozeman, recorded 14 tackles, two forced fumbles, a sack and two tackles for a loss in Montana’s 28-14 win over Montana State. Montana recovered both fumbles Coyle forced.

Eastern Washington quarterback Vernon Adams was honored on offense. He passed for 457 yards and five touchdowns in the Eagles’ 42-41 win over Portland State, including the game-winning TD pass with 31 seconds remaining.

Cal Poly returner Alex Hubbard and Weber State punter Tony Epperson share the special teams honor. Hubbard returned a kickoff 94 yards for a touchdown in Cal Poly’s 42-14 win at Northern Colorado while Epperson averaged 49.7 yards per punt in Weber State’s 32-7 win over Idaho State.
