FVCC Opens Registration for Senior Institute’s Six-Week Program

By Beacon Staff

Registration for Flathead Valley Community College’s 20th annual Senior Institute will kick off Feb. 4 at 8 a.m. The program provides seniors ages 65 and older opportunities to enroll in classes designed just for them, according to the community college.

The program promotes opportunities among seniors and enables them to learn new information, develop and enhance skills, reconnect with old friends and make new ones, and stay active during the winter months.

Last year, more than 260 seniors participated in the six-week program. This spring, seniors have the opportunity to enroll in one of the program’s 13 courses that range from yoga, computers and ceramics to the Civil War, Glacier National Park, and world travel. The cost to enroll varies with each class.

The program will meet every Friday beginning Feb. 21 and concluding March 28. Students are treated to a complimentary lunch buffet each Friday from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Classes follow lunch from 1 to 2:50 p.m.

Classes fill on a first-come, first-served basis. Students may register in-person at the FVCC Registration Office in Blake Hall on the college’s Kalispell campus, or registration forms can be mailed or faxed to the college.

Mail-in registration forms with complete course descriptions and enrollment fees can be obtained by calling 756-3813 or by visiting here.
