LETTER: Blasdel a Proven Leader

By Beacon Staff

Mark Blasdel is very special to us. We have watched Mark grow up. Anita was his first grade teacher. It has been wonderful to see Mark mature into a caring, congenial, sincere and hard working gentleman. He balances raising his young family with running a restaurant business in partnership with his mother, Alice. Mark puts forth his best effort in every endeavor he enters. He has distinguished himself by serving the Flathead community. Mark is active in volunteer work and often gives more than he receives catering numerous fund raising functions for volunteer organizations such as the Samaritan House, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, Boys and Girls Clubs, the National Rifle Association and the Stillwater Christian School even hosting Dr. Ben Carson.

Mark has taken this same work ethic to Helena when he was elected as a Montana State Representative where he was chosen by his peers to be Speaker of the House of Representatives in the last session. Due to Mark’s diligence, the House accomplished many things that might not have been possible without his special leadership. Legislators who served with him have said that his organizational abilities and financial acumen enable him to successfully lead during a difficult session. Mark’s success as speaker resulted in a healthy budget surplus despite opposition from the governor. Mark’s legislative experience and connections in Helena make him ultimately well qualified to serve as our next senator from District 4.
