Morley Second in Two Mile, Fifth in 5,000 at Nationals

Bigfork junior competes at national championships

Makena Morley earned a pair of impressive finishes at the New Balance Outdoor National Championships in North Carolina last weekend.

The Bigfork runner placed second in the 2-mile race, clocking 10:22.17. She was 13 seconds behind the winner, Hannah Debalsi of Connecticut. Morley earned fifth place in the 5,000 meter championship, clocking 16:49.74. She was only three seconds out of second place. The winner, Anna Rohrer of Indiana, finished in 16:16.97.

The event featured 14 of the best distance runners in the country at North Carolina AT&T’s Aggie Stadium in Greensboro.
