Cheney, one of the chief architects of the Iraq War, served two terms as vice president

BILLINGS — Former Vice President Dick Cheney continued his harsh criticism of the Obama administration during a speech in Billings, saying the president is peddling a “false narrative” about increased turmoil in Iraq.

Speaking at the Energy Exposition trade show Wednesday night, The Billings Gazette reported Cheney said military drawdowns are increasing the threat of terrorism around the world. He said “we’re going to have a number of states with nuclear weapons. And we’re going to have a number of terrorist networks that are going to have something more than box cutters and knives.”

Cheney, one of the chief architects of the Iraq War, served two terms as vice president under George W. Bush. Before that, he served as Secretary of Defense and as a six-term U.S. House member from Wyoming.
