Bryan Donner has been named the new district ranger for the Fortine and Rexford area in the Kootenai National Forest, forest supervisor Chris Savage announced this week. Donner will report for duty on August 11.

Donner is currently the interdisciplinary planning team leader on the Tally Lake Ranger District of the Flathead National Forest, where he has led planning efforts for a variety of projects, including large scale vegetation and fuels treatment projects as well as issues involving special use permits.

“I am pleased to have Bryan join the Kootenai Forest as district ranger,” Savage said. “His wealth of experience in several regions, leadership skills and engagement with community and partners, internally and externally, will benefit the district and forest immensely.”

Before coming to the Flathead, Bryon worked at the Mt. Hood National Forest in Oregon. He has also worked on forest projects internationally in Kazakhstand, Kyrgystan and South Africa.

“I’m very excited to be working with the employees of the Fortine/Rexford Ranger Districts and I’m looking forward to engaging with everyone from Eureka, Fortine and the surrounding communities,” Donner said. “The outstanding landscapes and resources of this area of Northwest Montana cannot be matched.”
