Female Grizzly, Cubs Relocated to Hungry Horse

The bears were captured last Thursday

Wildlife biologists with the state and the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes moved a 6-year-old female grizzly bear and her two male cubs from the Flathead Indian Reservation to a spot east of Hungry Horse Reservoir.

The bears were captured last Thursday in what was considered a pre-emptive effort to move the bears before they came into conflict with area residents.

Fish, Wildlife and Parks grizzly bear management specialist Tim Manley says the bears were released last Friday in the Deep Creek drainage. The adult female was fitted with a radio collar so her movements can be monitored.
