HELENA – U.S. Rep. Steve Daines has raised more than $1.4 million in the past three months in his fight to unseat U.S. Sen. John Walsh in the November election.
The Republican’s campaign released the fundraising numbers Monday ahead of a July 15 Federal Election Commission deadline.
Spokesman Brock Lowrence says the campaign has spent $1 million since May 15 and has $1.7 million on hand. Daines says the campaign has raised $3.6 million since it kicked off in the fall.
Walsh announced last week that his campaign has raised $1.25 million for the period from April 1 to June 30, and nearly $2.8 million overall.
Daines, Walsh and Libertarian Roger Roots are campaigning for the seat Walsh was appointed to in February.
