Garrett Evans of East Wenatchee, Washington won last weekend’s 24th annual Montana 200 at Montana Raceway Park.
Evans, 60, earned his first victory at the state’s premier motorsports event.
BJ Tidrick of Kennewick, Washington placed second and Kalispell’s Bodie Morton earned third in the finale on Saturday night.
With a crowd that filled the party decks and bleachers, the main event had 26 of the original 40 drivers left racing. A five-car pileup after only 10 laps took out early favorites Jonathon Gomez, the defending champ, and Jim Pettit II.
Owen Riddle, who qualified with the fast time, Alex Lessor, who had won two straight late model races at the track, and Morton, a local favorite, competed well but nobody could catch Evans.
Whitefish’s Giles Thornton placed 13th and Lessor finished 16th.
