Victim hospitalized with significant injuries

By Beacon Staff

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a male suspect who assaulted another male near the Raven Bar in Woods Bay early Tuesday.

The victim was transported by ambulance to Kalispell Regional Medical Center, where he is currently hospitalized with significant injuries, according to authorities.

Karen Sargeant with the sheriff’s office said the suspect is described as a Native American male in his early 20s about 5-foot-7, 150 pounds, with short, unkempt black hair. The incident occurred around 2:15 a.m. after the popular Margarita Monday festivities at The Raven.

Prior to the arrival of deputies, the suspect left the scene southbound on Montana Highway 35 toward Polson in a small white car, possibly a sport compact, with loud exhaust.

The suspect was accompanied by a white male and a Native American female, all of whom are described as being in their early 20s, Sargeant said. It was reported that the unidentified female is somehow related to the suspect and her white iPhone 5 was severely damaged around the time of or as a result of this assault.

Anyone with possible information related to the assault is encouraged to contact the Lake County Sheriff’s Office at 406.883.7301.
