Kalispell All-Stars Win Openers at Babe Ruth Regionals

Kalispell sweeps opening-round games; Glacier splits at Babe Ruth regional baseball tournament

The Kalispell All-Stars won their first two games at the Pacific Northwest Regional U14 Babe Ruth Baseball Tournament Wednesday. The Glacier All-Stars split, and both hometown teams are continuing action today in Whitefish and Columbia Falls, which is hosting the large tournament.

Kalispell dropped Wood River (Idaho) 3-1 and blanked Riverton (Wyoming) 11-0 in the opening round of pool play. The Glacier squad fell 11-4 to West Linn (Oregon) but rebounded to defeat Twin Cities (Washington) 5-4.

Kalispell plays Spokane Inland Select (Washington) tonight at 7 p.m. in Whitefish and Glacier takes on Calgary (Alberta) at 7 p.m. in Columbia Falls.

Pool play continues Friday with Glacier taking on Moses Lake at 5 p.m. and Kalispell playing Klamath Falls (South Oregon) at 5 p.m.

The two teams with the best records after pool play from both the American Division and National Division  advance to the championship round Saturday.
