POLSON — A 62-year-old Polson man has died of injuries he suffered after apparently falling down a flight of stairs leading to his basement.
Lake County Undersheriff Dan Yonkin says the man’s wife called for an ambulance at around 1 a.m. Monday.
The man stopped breathing a short time after emergency personnel arrived. Medics administered CPR and took him to the hospital in Polson, where he was later pronounced dead.
Yonkin tells KERR-AM that the man’s body was taken to the state medical examiner’s office in Missoula to determine the cause of death.
The man’s name was being withheld until family members could be notified.
