GREAT FALLS — Bail was set at $2 million for a 40-year-old Great Falls man suspected of killing a Cascade County sheriff’s deputy during a chase.
Adam Sanchez Jr. has not been charged in the Aug. 14 death of Deputy Joe Dunn.
The Great Falls Tribune reports Sanchez made an initial court appearance Saturday in his room at Benefis Healthcare, where District Judge Greg Pinski also ordered that Sanchez be booked into the Chouteau County jail in Fort Benton upon his release from the hospital.
Prosecutors moved to revoke Sanchez’s release while he awaited sentencing for an armed robbery and chase last November.
Public defender Matt McKittrick requested bail be set at $150,000, but County Attorney John Parker argued that Sanchez was a suspect in Dunn’s death and was a danger to the public.
