Excitement is building for the third annual Montana Dragon Boat Festival at the Flathead Lake Lodge, Sept. 13 – 14, and there are more than 200 volunteer positions to fill. Festival volunteers who commit to a minimum of four hours will receive a VIP parking pass, lunch and a T-shirt. There will be a volunteer orientation Thursday, Sept. 4, 6 p.m. at the Kalispell Chamber.
Here’s an outline of the volunteer positions available (some times are approximate):
Friday, Sept. 12
Event Set-Up – 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. or 12:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Welcome Reception Team Check-in – 5 to 8 p.m.
Saturday, Sept. 13
Team Loading – 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. or noon to 5 p.m.
Team Marshaling – Saturday 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. or noon to 5 p.m.
Score Runner – 7:30 a.m. to noon or noon to 5 p.m.
Information Booth – 7 a.m. to noon or noon to 5 p.m.
Spectator Surveys – 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Volunteer Support – 7:30 a.m. to noon or noon to 5 p.m.
VIP Host – 7:30 a.m. to noon or noon to 5 p.m.
Ticket Takers at the Dragon Bash – 5:45 to 9 p.m. (includes dinner & free entry to Bash)
Sunday, Sept. 14
