MISSOULA — A University of Montana student who was reported missing Monday after failing to return from a weekend fishing trip was found safe on Tuesday.

The Missoula County sheriff’s office said 21-year-old August Kramer’s last debit card transaction was at McDonald’s in Lolo at about 1:30 p.m. Sunday. He told his roommate he was going fishing, but he didn’t say where.

Kramer’s mother called the sheriff’s office on Tuesday afternoon to report her son was fine and returning to Missoula.

No other information was immediately available.

Kramer is from the Twin Cities.
