Four girls from Whitefish earned all-state at the Class A state golf tournament, including Coral Schulz, who captured the individual championship and guided the Bulldogs to their first team title in seven years.
Schulz held on to win in Hamilton on Oct. 4 after carding 88 on the second day of the tournament, finishing with 83-88—171. She edged Morgan O’Neil of Laurel by four strokes.
Whitefish’s Katie Fyall, 94-90–184, earned fourth place, Malia Morris, 96-101–197, placed eighth and Georgia Donaldson, 104-100–204, was 14th. Holly Hileman shot 114-112–226.
The Whitefish girls team claimed first place with 756, defeating Laurel, 807, and Frenchtown, 838. It was the Lady Bulldogs’ first state championship since 2007.
Polson’s Peyton Anderson, 100-91–191, placed sixth.
On the boys side, Mitch Young of Whitefish tied for sixth, 81-79–160, and the Bulldogs earned third place as a team. Cole Turgeon shot 86-82–168, Cody Olson finished with 87-82–169, Joey Walp had 90-89–179 and Jack Kahle shot 92-100—192.
Carson McDaniel of Polson, 78-84–162, tied for eighth.
Caleb Stetzner of Anaconda won the boys title, shooting 75-74—147. Hamilton claimed the boys team title with 643, beating Billings Central by 10 shots.
