The Montana Healthcare Foundation has named Aaron Wernham as its first president and chief executive officer.
Foundation officials said in a statement Thursday that Wernham previously provided health care in rural Alaska. He also founded and directed the Health Impact Project, a collaboration between the Robert Wood Foundation and The Pew Charitable Trusts.
The foundation was created last year is funded with $40.2 million from the sale of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Montana to Health Care Service Corp. of Chicago.
It plans to award grants to fund health-care programs in the state.
